ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT AND POSITION:
Established in 2004, MEET (Middle East Education through Technology) harnesses the power of technology and business to create an active network of young Palestinian and Israeli leaders who share a common professional language and capacity for joint cooperation. In partnership with MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), MEET delivers an intensive, three-year technology, business education, and leadership program which provides the tools and opportunities necessary to impact economic, social, and political change across the Middle East. MEET is expanding the student program and developing a mission critical alumni program. We seek a talented, efficient and effective grant writer to support MEET at this critical stage of development.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:
To obtain increased support from institutional funders, especially foundations, principally through writing grant proposals and reports which align the interests of MEET with those of its donors and potential donors.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
In close collaboration with the Director of Development, write and edit proposals and reports, including the narrative and financial segments, as well as cover letters and letters of interest (LOI) and related material as appropriate to support MEET’s fundraising; elicit program staff for information prior to submission of proposals and reports; research U.S. and overseas foundations for funding sources to build prospect pool; assist in preparing prospect visits and stewardship activities; assist in strategy development for prospects; update database and tracking systems with pertinent information, correspondence, and documents related to donors and prospects; be well versed in MEET’s programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree (preferably a Masters) with in a field such as Communications, PR, political science, history, international relations, sociology, etc.
Experience: Minimum 5 years related experience preferably with 1 – 2 years in successful grant-writing for foundations and/or foreign government/multi-lateral donors. Successful experience with proposal and report writing for USAID and/or EU grants preferred.
Core competencies: Superior writing and interpersonal skills. Comfort with information and database systems and fluency with word processing and spreadsheet applications (MS Office, Google Docs). Knowledge of fundraising principles and practices relative to foundations and foreign government/multi-lateral donors. Basic knowledge of budget construction and interpretation.

MEET is searching for a Lab Manager who can develop the software and IT infrastructure used by MEET program management, instructors, and students. The position involves setting up and maintaining MEET’s computer labs and office, developing and implementing an IT strategy for the organization, and developing software and IT solutions for student and instructor educational needs.

Job Description:
 Ongoing maintenance of MEET’s computer lab and office network of Linux and Windows machines
 Maintenance of MEET websites
 Design & develop software to meet the needs of MEET’s educational program
 Technical support for staff, instructors, and students
 Remain updated on relevant emerging technologies
 Role may grow to include increased responsibility for developing & maintaining IT infrastructure for all areas of the organization

Qualifications:
 Self-starter, highly motivated, and hard working
 Strong English interpersonal and communication skills
 Deadline-driven, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task
 BS graduate or student of Computer Engineering or Computer Science
 Experience with Linux system administration
 Experience building and deploying web applications
 Prior professional experience with system administration & network management preferred
